2003 has been a great year for Babya System and Babya Software Group, with lots of new software. I'll post the Year in Review month by month. Let's begin:

January 2003
Major events:name change, new web browser, cardfile type software , new Babya System version
We started the year as Smart Software, but a couple of weeks into Jan. 03, we became 'Babya Software Group'. Also after being bundled with Babya System from version 11.4 to 11.4, BabyaBrowser was replaced by a suprise announcement of a new application. The following described the new innovative web browser:
'Babya Discoverer is a way for anyone who has not wanted the bloat of IE 6.0. It's a Windows version of Apple's Safari, but with a standard Win32 interface, coded in VB 6.0.'
Some Babya users would think it was to be called-guess what: BabyaBrowser 9? No.
On January 16, 2003 the announcement became reality. I announced that the new program was not to be released as BabyaBrowser 9 but 'Babya Discoverer'. One day later, a brand new Babya System version was released-version 11.3. It had XP style buttons. And under 1MB download size. This version was worth waiting 3 months for. But the star of the 'show ' was bSync ( the first version was a command line file sync utility) and a tutorial for Babya System , both released on the 18th. And Babya bFile, bCardfile got their debut on the 19th. So-6 programs released in one month. That wasn't the only releases that month-Babya System XP Suite was made available-at Winsite I described it as "Includes everything you need to use Babya System XP".

February :
Major events: bNotetaker, Babya System XP 11.4

February was a quiet month, releases wise. First cab off the rank was a Mac OS X style text editor-bNotetaker. This wasn't very popular at all. First not many downloads, the fatal blow was the fact that the Aquacontrols used for it and bDock and bClock was taken off the web, because Apple decided to ask Aquasoft (that makers of the controls) to remove it. All three were discontinued today. But gloom became envy, when the last Babya System 11.x version came out-version 11.4.

March:
Major events: Major new Babya System release announced
There isn't anything much worthy of noting in March, except we announced a new Babya System release-Babya System 2004 (dropping XP off the name).

April:
April saw a update to Discoverer-rewrite from scratch, based on a new program. And the two year and ageing Babya System 7.1 received the Babya bDesktop 12 interface in the form of v 7.17.

May
Major events:Babya System 2004 v 12 released, Babya Calculator, new Babya Discoverer 3/4.0 setups using a .msi based setup,Babya Discoverer 5 released,Babya System SDK

May was a big month in software release-7 new releases:
Babya System 2004 v 12.0.232 Released:31 May 03
Babya System 2004 v 12.0 Released: 25 May 03

June:
Major events: bFTP released

June is one month best described as a one release wonder-bFTP was the release that month

July:
Major events: First Babya System 2004 Service Pack
July's only release was the first Babya System 2004 Service Pack

August:
Major events:bCal made available

August saw bCal released-announced late 2002, to came to release in that month.

September:
Major events: Babya System 2004 update frenzy
September was a furious, action packed software release centric month. Babya System received 8 updates in that month-v 12.01, then v 12.02, v 12.03 after that v 12.04, and then v 12.066, and even v 12.07 and finally v 12.08. Also September saw the debut of Babya Address Book. But a new version of bSync 2 was a showstopper. Released on the 23rd, it had a full GUI mode, required no batch files.
October:
Major events:started doing Babya System 12.1
October had no software releases. My efforts focused on 'Babya System 12.1'. It was supposed to available that month, delayed to November-no release, and even to last month-no sign.

Why is it delayed-simply because I am rewriting some functions using VB.NET. bCalc and Babya File Copy now have .NET Framework versions. It should be available in the next month or two.

November :
Major events:Babya System v 12.09, bSecure, Babya Icon Editor, Discoverer 6

November was the month that Babya System v 12.09, bSecure, Babya Icon Editor, Discoverer 6 all were released. And Babya Photo Workshop Professional came out-replacing bPicture.

December:
Discoverer 7.0 released-nothing major.

January 2004:
2004 was bad to begin, our DK3 website went down-all their portals did too. But bCalc and Babya File Copy came to .NET.

Suprises-Babya Media Players replaces bMedia, Constellation replaces Memowriter/bNotetaker What next?:
Until our portal is backup, I am posting news and information here. Wednesday is the online Babya Software Group expo, a live coverage will be kept as well as at my Gecities website. I am announcing a lot of new software at that time. So you should browse on January 7 for our Babya Software Group expo. I hope you can join us, it'll be very exciting.
